JEWELLERY CARE GUIDE:
See below a few tips on how to store and care best for your jewellery:
Store your jewellery in a cool, dry place that is preferably airtight, to avoid oxidation - oxidation is the process that make your jewellery turn black. You can use the plastic bag your jewellery arrived in, or if you prefer you can also store it in the pouch a gift or jewellery box. We suggest that you do not store it directly in contact with wood as it contains acids that can affect the surface of the jewellery causing it to discolour.
- We recommend that you do not expose your jewellery to corrosive agents such as chlorine, grease, sweat, perfume, alkaline agents, or salinity for a long time.
-- Do not wear your jewellery if you are taking a bath, going for a swim, tanning or going to exercise and sweat; chlorine, water, salt, sun and sweat can cause your jewellery to change colour, loose it glow or turn black and damage the gold or plated layer. The water and sweat can cause your jewellery to change colour, loose it glow or turn black.
-- Keep your jewellery clean. You can use warm water with a little soap and rinse off with water and dry with a soft cloth. Do not leave your jewellery soaking in the water. Caution: Do not to use soap on the freshwater or shell pearls as they will loose their lustre. Use a cloth suitable for cleaning or polishing jewellery as the one provided when you received your jewellery. Gently rub the silver surface with the cloth to polish it or remove marks from skin contact.
Freshwater pearls and shell pearls:
Both freshwater pearls and shell pearls are very soft and smooth. This makes them more susceptible to scratches. Freshwater pearls should be kept away from items that can scratch them.
Pearl jewellery benefits from being worn often as skin oils are one of the best things to keep pearls looking lustrous. Perfumes, colognes, and lotions should not be worn where pearls will be touching the skin as they will absorb those substances.
Lotions and skin care products containing citrus oils should be avoided as any acid can dull the surface of pearls.
